The past few weeks we’ve traveled from the Pacific Northwest, down the coast of California, to our current location of West Texas. One of the fun things about traveling at this time of year is seeing the different holiday celebrations and decorations along the way. In the spirit of the season, we’ve put together a little holiday postcard for you. We hope you enjoy it!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year with hugs to you both! Love the tumbleweed snowman, never seen one like that before. May Santa be generous and 2018 be bright. Love you guys, Brenda
Brenda, that was the first tumbleweed snowman we’ve seen, too. Perfect for Arizona. :-) Happy New Year to you and Morey, hope we’ll see you this year! Hugs to you both!
Welcome to West Texas! We miss the winters there and hope you are having a grand time. Are you visiting Big Bend? Hope so. Happy Holidays to you!
R & K, we love West Texas! We just arrived in Big Bend and have a week of exploring ahead. Wow, it’s more beautiful than we imagined! Wish we had made it here when you guys were here.
Laurel & Eric – MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU BOTH, & THANK YOU FOR ALL THE TERRIFIC PHOTOS AND STORIES YOU SEND TO US. HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR’S DAY.
Thanks for your good wishes, Rick! We’re happy you’re enjoying the blog. Wishing you a wonderful New Year, as well.
Merry Christmas while you enjoy those birds. I enjoyed your Christmas photos.
Glad you enjoyed the photos, Debbie. Wishing you a new year of grand adventures!
Have a great holiday! I love hearing about your adventures throughout the U.S.. See you next year in Oregon.
So good to hear from you, Thalia! We’re looking forward to seeing you and Raul next year in Oregon. Happy New Year to you both!
You’ve covered some distance the past few weeks. Enjoyed the postcards. Merry Christmas to you both!
Gayle, we’re on our way to Florida — even with two-and-a-half months to make the journey, it’s a long way (as you know!). Good thing there are lots of wonderful things to do along the way. Happy New Year to you both!
Love and light this holiday season…had a tumbleweed tree one year but I like the snowman! Thinking how blessed we are to have close friends, homes and the ability and opportunity to travel and experience life in all its flavors! Stay healthy and open to the wonder! So enjoy your glimpses into life on the road! Thinking of quilts to come and bags and more wild denium jackets Frieda style! Vaya con Dios mi amiga y amigo!
Diana, of course you had a tumbleweed tree, my creative friend! We are blessed, indeed. I’m liking your ideas for our future projects! Hugs to you both.
Thank you for this wonderful all American holiday celebration – I love every pic!!
Wishing you and Eric a holiday as loving and wonderful as you are.
Thank you, dear Jodee. We wish you and Bill a new year of splendid adventures and hope that we’ll be meeting up with you somewhere on the road!
What a great idea, holiday postcards. You two have covered some miles this month. Only you could have been organized enough to have a labyrinth walk for Solstice. Amazing! Wishing you health and happiness this season.
Sherry, I tried to plan our travels so that we could be somewhere special to celebrate Solstice and Christmas. We lucked out finding the labyrinth on Solstice Eve — it was a perfect moment, at sunset with the Sandhill Cranes flying overhead! Wishing you both good health and wonderful adventures in the coming year!
Merry Christmas! Love seeing the various photos as you transition from the PNW to the Gulf Coast.
Thank you, Ingrid. We always enjoy the dramatic transition of landscape and culture traveling from the Pacific Northwest to the Gulf Coast. Hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season!
Love the holiday postcards! Terry and I wish you and Eric the best of holidays and a new year filled with hope, love, laughter, and many memorable adventures. And, of course, a year of great health for us all! Love you two!
So glad you enjoyed the postcards, LuAnn. We wish you and Terry all the best in this coming year — let’s plan to share some adventures together somewhere! Love you two, dear friends!
Merry Christmas! Love the holiday spirit seen throughout your travels!
Wishing you continued safe and happy travels to FL…

What a wonderful collection of Christmas memories Laurel! Merry Christmas to you both and a wonderful, healthy New Year.
Thank you, Sue — it’s fun making memories on the road, including meeting up with wonderful friends like you and Dave in our travels! We wish you both all the best in this coming year.
Great photos and captions! Especially that reindeer pictograph ;)
Glad you liked the reindeer, Amanda. :-)) We love you and Fin so much and miss you! oxoxox
What a lovely collection of photos. My favorites are the cardinal and the labyrinth on Solstice eve.
Happy healthy holidays and a wonderful adventurous 2018 to you both!
Peta & Ben
Peta & Ben, finding the labyrinth on Solstice Eve was an unexpected gift! We wish both of you all the best in the coming year — adventures, good health, and peace.

Christine, you inspired me to put together this collection of holiday photos! May this be a wonderful year for you, in every way.
This is just wonderful. Happy Adventurous New Year to you two darling humans! xoxo
So glad you enjoyed this random collection, Kim. :-) Wishing you and Rick a cozy and joyful year in your sweet beach nest!
Beautiful and a very creative presentation of Christmas cheer and wishes. That cyclist ornament in Yuma looks great! We wish you Laurel and Eric a joyous and peaceful Christmas in BBNP.
Haha, the cyclist ornament! So glad you enjoyed our holiday card, MonaLiza. We wish you and Steve a wonderful new year of good health and grand adventures! (We’re loving our time in Big Bend NP!)
That is a sweet gift. Miss you. Ann
I’m glad you enjoyed the card, Ann. :-) I miss you, too! Hope you’re having a cozy and peaceful holiday. Hugs to you and Jake. oxoxo
Between working at Amazon and Christmas at the ranch with family, I am only today getting around to reading this post. We wish you Happy Holidays and safe travels in 2018. We are heading to Big Bend in February, via San Antonio and the hill country. We are so close, but you will probably be well in Florida by the time we get underway in late January. :(
You two are brave, taking on Amazon again. :-) Such a bummer that we’ll miss you in Big Bend. Hope you have a wonderful new year of adventures — and hope we meet up with you on the road somewhere!
AAAhhhhhh….wishing we were on the road.
Snow and cold in Mid-Ohio

What a great composition of Christmas celebration. As usual the photography is superb. Hope to see you this summer on Lopez. One more year for work for Karen and then we hit the road too. Big Bend is on the list so I can’t wait to see the blog post. Happy Holidays to you and Eric.
Wayne and Karen
